Bumi Armada, now worlds 5th largest FPSO owner, has set up a JV with Shapoorji from India for the upcoming Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel for Husky-CNOOC’s Madura Straits BD field, offshore Indonesia. This ten-year FPSO lease award is in the region of US$ 1.18 Billion, with options to extend annually for the next five years. Expected to be operationally ready before the end of 2016, the Madura BD field FPSO is targeted to produce 6,000 bopd and 100 mmcfg per day. Bumi Armada and Shapoorji have previously paired up on two FPSO projects, both for ONGC in the D-1 and Cluster-7 fieldson the west coast of India.
